The Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien is an art museum and is one of the largest and most important museums in the world. It was opened in 1891. The Egyptian-Oriental collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum is one of the most important collections of Egyptian antiquities in the world. The more than 17,000 objects date to a period of almost 4,500 years, from pre- and early Egyptian times (around 4000/3500 BC) to the early Christian era. The museum's focus was already laid in the 17th century: 16th-century Venetian paintings (Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto), 17th-century Flemish paintings (Peter Paul Rubens, Anthonis van Dyck), early Netherlandish paintings (Jan van Eyck, Rogier van der Weyden) and old German painting (Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach). Other highlights of the picture gallery today include a globally unique stock of pictures by Pieter Bruegel the Elder as well as masterpieces by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Raphael, Caravaggio, Velázquez, and Italian Baroque paintings.

Secession

Secession
The Secession, built by Joseph Maria Olbrich, is a key work of Viennese Art Nouveau and is the oldest independent exhibition hall dedicated to contemporary art in the world. A plot of land at the corner of Ringstraße and Wollzeile was initially intended as the building site. Due to protests, the building was erected at a less prominent location on the Wienzeile.

Klimt Villa

Klimt Villa
The Klimt Villa Vienna houses the studio that the artist used from 1911 until his death in 1918. The house itself had an eventful history and was revitalized on the occasion of the celebratory year of Klimt in 2012. It is a permanent exhibition of Klimt's art studio - the only one of his former workplaces in Vienna. Since the opening of the Klimt Villa, numerous events have taken place on the upper floor and/or in the extensive 6,500m² area.
