Hikes

Erich Hütte

The Erich Hütte is a popular destination for families with children. As the hiking trails pass through meadows, you often encounter grazing cows curiously watching the hikers. You walk comfortably for about 30 minutes on a gravel path until you reach the Erich Hütte. From the large sun terrace, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Großglockner while indulging in regional delicacies. After a short break, you can continue to the nearby cross and take impressive photos with the Hochkönig mountain range in the background. From here, there are more tours you can continue. However, we will end this short hike here and take the same path back to the parking lot.

Tips:
No hiking equipment is necessary.
If you plan to eat at the hut, just bring water for the way up.

Riedinger Waterfalls

Hiking to the Riedinger Waterfalls in Muehlbach is an truly unforgettable experience. Starting at the Arthurhaus, it is an easy path with stunning views and a few cow encounters. About 30 minutes in, we reached the 135-year-old Windraucheggalm, where you can enjoy homemade drinks and meals. Continuing on, we passed remnants of a 1969-1982 ski jumping center before arriving at the breathtaking waterfalls. The cool mist and plunge pools were perfect on a hot day, and the surrounding Hochkönig mountain range made every moment picturesque. This hike is a must for anyone who loves nature, a bit of history, and a good alpine snack!

Tips for the hike:
Even there are two huts on the way always bring enough water. You can refill your water bottles at the falls.
Hiking gear & boots is recommended.
Sunscreen, most of the path is on the sunny side
Swimming trunks if you are brave enough to dip your whole body in the ice cold water of the waterfalls.
You can get to the starting point, the Arthurhouse with the Wanderbus, or park your car at the designated parking area (has parking fees)
