From Darien, we made our way to St. Simons Island, where the pace of life is as laid-back as you’d imagine. We strolled along the quiet beaches, and enjoyed some of the freshest seafood you could ever dream of. There’s something about the salty air and the sound of waves that makes you forget about the rest of the world for a while.

Next up was Jekyll Island, a spot that feels like a secret paradise hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We spent our days biking along the shaded paths, exploring the historic district, and soaking in the serenity of Driftwood Beach, where weathered trees create an almost otherworldly landscape. It’s the kind of place where you can’t help but feel connected to nature.
For a little extra adventure, we can recommend horseback riding on the beach or paddling with kayaks through the tranquil marshes and getting up close with the local wildlife.

Before wrapping up our trip, we made a quick stop in Brunswick. This little coastal town is really charming - think historic squares, quaint shops, cute restaurants and breweries and friendly locals who are always ready to share a tip. It was the perfect way to end our Georgia roadtrip, with a reminder of how rich in history and hospitality this region truly is.
